Membership

All the Club Membership Benefits Explained:

• Access members-only climbing/social trips.

• Automatically become a member of the BMC and benefit from the BMC Club Membership perks (more details in the Membership FAQ).

• Subsidised or free entry to social events (some social events are a mix of members and non-members).

• Everyone does their best to make you feel welcome and help you overcome barriers so that we can enjoy climbing together!

What You Need:

• A willingness to learn and practise if you have minimal climbing experience.

• You must be over 18 years old.

• Your own personal climbing equipment, appropriate to the type of climbing you want to do.  

• If you're new to climbing, need advice on equipment, or don’t yet have your own kit, hit us up on Discord or email us, and we'll figure something out together!

• Pay an annual subscription fee of £40.41 for a membership for the 2026 calendar year.  There is a slightly reduced rate if you join in the second half of the year. 

• As of 2026, we have a limited fund known as the Get Outdoors Fund aimed at those with lower incomes or who may be contending with temporary financial pressures.  Please see the Membership FAQ for more details. 

• A sense of humour or incredible belaying tekkers. You can also get by with an inclination to share delicious snacks!
